Gehan Homes, the 13th largest private builder and the 29th largest builder in the US, was awarded in six categories at this year’s annual Houston’s Best PRISM Awards for its floor plan designs, marketing initiatives and sales professionals.
Hosted by the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA), the PRISM Awards aim to “recognize the industry's finest in more than 100 categories spanning from People to Product and Promotion.” Nearly 500 entries were received for this year’s awards.
Gehan Homes winning entries were:
1) Best Primary Bedroom: The Villanova
The Villanova floor plan, part of the company’s popular Classic Series, won Best Primary Bedroom. This bedroom features recessed lights, large windows for natural light, dark blue-green accent walls and tons of space to give the room a sanctuary feel.

2) Best Product Design: The Villanova
The Villanova floor plan beat out the competition in the category of Best Product Design. The floor plan design features a stunning kitchen island, soaring ceilings and offers a multitude of personalization options with a flex space, optional formal dining and game room, to name a few. Home buyers have the ability to design the home that fits their lifestyle with this fun and flexible plan.
3) Best Product Design: The Juniper
The Juniper floor plan, of the company’s equally popular Premier Series, also won Best Product Design. This floor plan design features an entryway with tray ceilings and curved walls, a gourmet kitchen and a stately exterior elevation.

4) Best Marketing Campaign of the Year: SPIN & Save Campaign
During the month of July, Gehan Homes launched a two-week promotion that offered homebuyers the ability to save money while personalizing their new home. The Spin & Save campaign allowed buyers to spin for savings on new home options so they could truly personalize their home. The campaign generated a high level of incremental sales and website traffic for the organization.
5) Best Television/Video Promo of the Year: Happiness Lives Here
Gehan Homes’ Happiness Lives Here video won Best Video/Television Promotion of the Year. Published earlier this year, the video features families enjoying their new homes and the community amenities they offer. The video was written and directed in house by the company’s marketing team.
6) Best Internet Sales Professional of the Year: Ashley Witten
Ashley Witten was recognized for Best Internet Sales Professional of the Year. As an Online Sales Counselor for the company’s Houston division, Ashley was honored for her sales and customer service excellence.
