The American Red Cross North Texas Region recognized Gehan Homes for their continued support and sponsorship as a Silver Partner. At their annual event, the charitable organization celebrated their national and regional Ready 365 partners, who help fulfill their mission around the world and in North Texas every day.
“We first partnered with the American Red Cross during the post Hurricane Harvey clean up. Throughout the disaster recovery efforts, we witnessed Red Cross Volunteers along with our employees take immediate action to aid those in the hardest hit areas,” said John Winniford, Chief Executive Officer, Gehan Homes. “Their utilization of a strong network of volunteers and donors, to turn compassion into action, inspired us to establish a close partnership with them to assist those in need.”
Gehan Homes, which builds in communities across Arizona and Texas, recognizes how important it is to families to be able to get back into their homes, following a natural disaster. The company made a $50,000 donation to the Red Cross in October, in response to Hurricane Florence, which impacted the Carolinas.
The Red Cross responds to an emergency every eight minutes. From small house fires to multi-state natural disasters, the American Red Cross goes wherever needed, so people can have clean water, safe shelter and hot meals when they need them most. The organization responds to an average of more than 62,000 disasters every year. An average of 90 cents of every dollar the Red Cross spends is invested in delivering care and comfort to those in need.
