Gehan Homes, the 13th largest private builder and the 29th largest builder in the US, was awarded five Star Awards by the Texas Association of Builders. The builder of new homes was recognized for its excellence in floor plan design, distinctive interior merchandising and marketing acumen.
Hosted annually by the Texas Association of Builders (TAB), the Star Awards recognize “excellence in all areas of the residential construction industry.”
Out of the over 600 entries in 72 cities across the state of Texas, Gehan Homes received awards in the following five categories.
1) Specialty Feature/Room, Volume Builder: The Cardinal, Best Family Room
The Cardinal floor plan, of the company’s Signature series of plans, was recognized for Best Family Room. This family room features an open-concept layout with views of the gourmet kitchen, soaring vaulted ceilings and a built-in fireplace.
The entries for this award were judged on their appeal and cost-effectiveness for their target market in addition to design, including colors, textures and more.
2) Best Kitchen Design, Volume Builder: The Cardinal
The Cardinal floor plan was additionally recognized for Best Kitchen Design. This kitchen features a stunning oversized kitchen island, ample cabinetry and an abundance of prep space.
The Cardinal showcase model home can be viewed at Hidden Oaks at Berry Creek in Georgetown, Texas, where award-winning plan is currently for sale.
Entries for this award were judged on the overall design, quality of construction and creativity of the kitchen’s space.
3) Best Interior Merchandising: The Villanova
Located in Webster, Texas, near Houston, the Gehan Homes’ community Edgewater was recognized for its Classic Series’ Villanova floor plan, which received the award for Best Interior Merchandising. The interior features a black marbled accent wall in the living room, complemented with industrial-style light fixtures and accent walls throughout.
Entries for this award were judged their appeal and cost-effectiveness for their target market in addition to design, including use of colors, textures, space and more.
4) Best Special Promotion: SPIN & SAVE!
During the month of September, Gehan Homes launched a two-week promotion that offered homebuyers the ability to save money while personalizing their new home. The Spin & Save campaign allowed buyers to spin for savings on new home upgrades and more. The campaign generated a high level of incremental sales and website traffic for the organization.
The entries for this award were judged on originality, cost effectiveness and success.
5) Rookie Sales Professional of the Year: Christine Ford
Christine Ford was recognized as the Rookie Sales Professional of the Year. As a sales counselor for the company’s Houston division, Christine was judged upon her sales approach, techniques and philosophies in addition to her community involvement and results.
Additionally, Gehan Homes has received recognition in previous years from the TAB Star Awards.
