Texas-based Gehan Homes has again been named one of the nation's Top 100 Builders, rising 10 spots again from its previous listing to No. 27, with strong growth in home closings and total revenue. In 2009, Gehan Homes also rose 10 spots in the national listing. The annual national ranking of home builder strength and stability is compiled by Builder magazine, the official magazine of the National Association of Home Builders.
"We are pleased with the growth and strength of our business, especially in a recovering economy," said Tim Gehan, Gehan Homes Chief Executive Officer. "More than that, as a family-owned business, we are incredibly grateful to be able to help more Texans move into their new homes."
Overall, the U.S. Census Bureau reported a 14 percent decline in new home sales in 2010. Despite the challenging economic environment, Gehan Homes was able to achieve:
- A 62-percent increase in home closings
- A 70-percent increase in revenue
- The third most profitable year in the company's 20-year history
Builder magazine noted the successful strategy of Gehan Homes in refreshing its home plans and adding new series of homes with flexible designs. Empowering home buyers with more options has generated more satisfaction from customers and more profits for Gehan Homes. The magazine also praised Gehan Homes for improving construction efficiency without sacrificing quality.
